About the role

As a laboratory assistant at Lithea, you will work closely with our researchers and project leaders on practical and operational tasks in the laboratory. You will be a central part of the preclinical development work surrounding LIT1001 and our upcoming product candidates.

Your main responsibilities:

Prepare, organize, and maintain the laboratory environment (cell culture, microbiology, and analytical workflows).

Assist in conducting in vitro experiments, including:

  • Eukaryotic cell culture work, 3D cell cultivation
  • Cytotoxicity analyses
  • Formulation studies
  • Tissue mimicking studies
  • Sampling and sample preparation

Support in vivo studies through:

  • Handling of blood plasma samples
  • Tissue preparation
  • Documentation and logistics

Perform basic analytical work (e.g., spectrophotometry, pH measurement, calculations).

Ensure quality and document all work according to internal SOPs and good laboratory practices.

Contribute to ongoing improvement of processes and routines.

Qualifications:

At least a high school education in natural sciences; post-secondary laboratory education is an advantage.

Experience in a laboratory environment, particularly in biology, chemistry, or biotechnology.

Completed course in laboratory animal science.

Practical experience and documented experience in:

  • handling of cytostatics;
  • eukaryotic cell culture;
  • working with laboratory animals;
  • analytical methods such as UV-Vis, SEM, CT, and PET-CT;
  • sample preparation for histology such as paraffin embedding; and
  • sterile work.

Good ability to follow SOPs, work systematically, and document accurately.

Experience working with ceramic-based bone substitutes containing calcium sulfate and hydroxyapatite.

Responsible, meticulous, and positive – and comfortable working in a dynamic research environment.
